During our 55th Class Reunion I found out a couple of things. It seemed that my former classmates were getting so gray, and wrinkled and bald , that very few of them recognized me.
The second thing I discovered was that I had made the trip over the hill and never realized that I had gotten to the top.
We would appreciate your signing our Guestbook, and let us know your impression of our Web Pages. Thanks!
During the next few months we plan to publish the career paths of the Alumni and where they hoped to be after the dreams of youth had died. We also hope to publish up-to-date photos of the ones that are willing to send the photos to us. We also want to obtain photos of the reunion from anyone who snapped pictures at any of the get-together's. You help would be greatly appreciated. Remember this is your site. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Dad's Auto in 1946
Russ Treat & I 1946
I enlisted in the US Navy as soon as I turned seventeen.  When I returned home on leave, a friend (Russell Treat) EFA who also worked at the Capitol Theater went over by Hopkins Street School to see my sister and her husband. This was their home on Medina Street.

My dad's "41" Plymouth, that occasionally, I talk him into loaning me for taking classmates and friends to a dance. Gas coupons were the big problem but if they could be found, away we would go. My father worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad so was out much of the time. It worked well and only required being to the yard to pick him up whn he came in. This was a nice arrangement for me and my friends. We tried not to abuse it, and it worked for everyone.

Joan Dalton Chilson
EASTHAM - Joan D. Chilson died Oct. 7, 2007, at Liberty Commons in Chatham after a 10-year battle with breast cancer.

She was the wife of the late Charles H. Chilson.

We have come to the end of an impeccable era that leaves behind a great legacy, a legacy that is filled with warmth and compassion.

A legacy that can not be justified by few soft words of admiration, but a legacy that will live on forever in our souls and in our hearts.

All those who crossed her path were some of the luckiest on this earth, for they were in the presence of greatness. A true angel come to life.

This is a woman with such a strong energy and force that she should not have been a woman at all; with all that power she should have been an element or a season. Mother Nature is no match against her. Like the flowers need the rain, like the waves need the sea or like the cardinals need the trees, she is the air we will now forever breathe. She was a trooper at best. She stood on the those two long sturdy legs with the utmost strength and grace filled with humility and love.

There is not a single soul that can take away what she has accomplished or one who would even want to diminish the great life that was lived. The life of the ultimate icon.

Written by Brie Reynolds, granddaughter.

She was born in Xenia, Ohio, in 1930.

She was a great Mom and kept her family of seven children and husband going for over 50 years.

She has been with the Orleans Police Department in a similar capacity for the past 20 years.

She was a long-standing member of the Church of the Holy Spirit ever since the family moved to Orleans, in the mid-1960s. She has touched many in the community with her warm smile, kind ways, and quiet, strong resolve.

She is survived by seven children and loving companions, Susan (Chilson) and Hal von Hagn of Nashua, N.H.; Anne (Chilson) and Chuck Reynolds of Eastham; Charles and Linda Chilson of Lowell; Richard Chilson and Mindy LaBranche of Rochester; Michael and Betsy Chilson of North Eastham; Stephen Chilson of Orleans; and Amy Chilson and Carol Kindle of North Eastham.

She also leaves 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Orleans on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services for family and friends will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit, Thursday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m.

The family expresses heartfelt thanks to the many caregivers who provided care for our Mom during her illness, especially Dr. Kim Mead-Walters of Nauset Family Practice and the staff at Liberty Commons.

In lieu of flowers Joan wishes that donations be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, for breast cancer work, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.
